We celebrated World kindness Day at Busy Little Bees! This day was also the second heavenly anniversary of Pam Petty Hagdorn, Miss Emily's mom. Our students decorated cards that we sent to the Pediatric Cancer unit in our local hospitals. We read books about kindness in each class and extended dialogues on what it means to be kind. We as a staff are proud to know our students are learning their social emotional foundation in a school setting. We chose to spread kindness by having a school wide pizza party!
We know Pam would have loved this celebration. She was a woman who lived by "if we can do good, then we should", and we are honored to remember her today.
Our Busy Little Bees learned all about Diwali and celebrated by painting Diyas, reading books and making Rangoli patterns using stencils and sand glue. Students were able to take everything home in a gift bag and share with their parents. Our staff wore Kurtas in their classroom matching colors and worked together to color a traditional stenciled image. Multicultural awareness and celebration is at the core of our values and watching the ideas start at the conference table and come to life is so rewarding! We appreciate the support of our parents for allowing their children to learn about all different holidays and cultures.
