Our Busy Little Bees got to take their photo with Santa! Paul (photographed with Miss Emily & Santa) is the owner of Rocheny Photography, a Bayonne grown business. It is an honor to have been able to partner with him to make this possible for our students and parents. It is always our mission to bring memories and experiences to the front door for our families! Each student went home with their same day printed photo. We could not fit all 100+ student pictures here but check out our staff pictured here with Santa!
Our students celebrated Christmas! They each made their own Christmas tree ornament to hang on our hallway trees for the whole month. These finally went home with students at the end of the month to display in your homes. It was a fun month of celebrating!
Our students have spent this month celebrating Kwanzaa in many ways. They made patterns, made tie-dye cloths, ate fruits in the harvest spirit of the holiday, painted Kinaras, and read lots of books. Kwanzaa reflects the traditions of harvest festival, celebrated in many African countries acknowledging the first fruits of the harvest and the reward of family and friends working together to produce the season's crop.
This month our little bees learned about the holiday traditions of Hanukkah! We read books during Large Group Time and each student decorated one chain link before attaching them together as a classroom. Our Admin team also made one link and attached them all to make a school wide Menorah which we proudly displayed in the hallway.
Our students celebrated National Gingerbread House Day by making their very own Gingerbread house from cardboard. They even got to light them using a tealight! Our classes all read about Christmas and the Gingerbread Boy! Some classes even went on a hunt to find the gingerbread boy and eat some gingerbread cookies.
