My name is Denise Mulcahy, and I have been at Busy Little Bees since it was Preschool Playhouse. I am a retired Jersey City Public School teacher who missed working with children so much, that I decided to “unretire" in 2019. I have been here ever since. Working at Busy Little Bees is a joy! Miss Emily has created a warm family environment with 8 classes. There is a plethora of supplies, and new items are usually easy to get. There is a vast library of children’s books. We celebrate everything here: staff birthdays (lunches for everyone) and many multicultural celebrations! Miss Emily is very generous, and she always supports and backs her teachers. She is always very nice when dealing with parents, and she is a great listener. There are many benefits to working here: health, dental and eye insurance, life insurance and 401K after one year employment. If you love working with children in a relaxed and supportive environment, Busy Little Bees is the place for you!

 I have worked in education for three years now. I have to say Busy Little Bees is a great place to work. It is a very close-knit work environment. The co-workers are from all different walks of life, but we come together beautifully. At Busy Little Bees we celebrate all other cultures, and it is exciting to learn about them. The director Emily is so easy to talk to about anything and everything and is very generous. It's like one big family. We have staff bonding outings every month, which is fun. Busy Little Bees is truly a hive in the sense that there’s a strong feeling of unity, cooperation and understanding; along with working together harmoniously while encouraging individuality. It is a true and tight-knit community filled with staff supporting and cheering on each other in all aspects of the workday. It is undeniable that the team and staff really love what they do day in and day out. And the glue (or the honey!) holding it all together is Miss Emily; she is without a doubt the heart of Busy Little Bees - always beating nonstop, giving vital life to all. They say that having a good boss makes your life so much easier, and Miss Emily is the living and loving proof of that. She goes above and beyond to ensure the wellbeing of her staff when they’re at work and even outside of work. She is always there for anyone who needs her, even if it’s just for something as insignificant as a kind word of encouragement. She cares for her staff as if they’re family, and her office is always a safe and cozy haven when you need some time to breathe! As for the academic side of things, the curriculum and daily schedule are excellent and encourage children’s independence and self-worth. The staff is provided with all the support needed to plan and implement any plans imaginable! The classrooms are bright, cheerful, clean, charming, and well stocked. A home-school connection is highly emphasized and is well-executed by the staff. Overall, the hive that is Busy Little Bees is a wonderful place to work and a real treasure among its kind. It is a blessing to have a workplace that feels as a “home away from home”, along with staff that looks out for one another, and of course to have a director who always has your back! This hive is buzzing with love!

I have been working at Busy Little Bees for two years, and I absolutely love it. Miss Emily has created an incredibly supportive environment. She is always there for her staff whenever they need assistance, and she excels at serving as a link between parents and teachers. Our classrooms are always stocked with all the supplies we need, and Ms. Emily is always willing to purchase anything we request. We receive great benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, along with life insurance. Miss Emily goes above and beyond to make us feel appreciated. She celebrates everyone's birthday by providing lunch for the entire staff based on the birthday person's preferences. If your birthday falls in the summer, you even get to celebrate your half-birthday. We also get to celebrate every holiday, which is wonderful, especially since we live in such a diverse city. As a mother of three with a very busy schedule, I have always found Miss Emily to be incredibly supportive when I need help. I’ve worked in different environments, and this by far has been my favorite and I’m looking forward to many more years to come at Busy Little Bees. 

 Working at Busy Little Bees is a rewarding experience. The administration is supportive and values each staff member. They go above and beyond to create a positive environment, planning fun and engaging activities that bring both staff and children together in meaningful ways. One of the best parts of working here is the amazing team. My co-workers are kind, collaborative, and always willing to lend a hand. It feels like a family. The curriculum is based on the HighScope approach, which is both child-led and hands-on. It encourages exploration, creativity, and independence, allowing children to learn through meaningful play and discovery.
