Our Family Workers are truly the honey of the hive, always working to support our teachers and focusing on student engagement. You can find them bridging the gaps between school and home.
Mr Jonathan is a Family Worker by day and a traffic control coordinator by night. He is the best dog dad to Lucky, and in his spare time he enjoys winning parlays and collecting vintage sports hats. Mr Jonathan's goal for this year is to help our students establish strong social and emotional skills. He wants his students to feel safe to express themselves and interact positively.
Miss Maria loves spending time with family and visiting new places. In her spare time she enjoys reading and doing arts and crafts. She is most looking forward to building meaningful relationships with our students and their parents. A goal for her this year is to foster a safe learning environment that encourages growth and success for her students.
We are so excited to kick off our Honey Pot Work Time! The name "Honey Pot Work Time" is inspired by our family workers, who are the purest form of production in the hive as it relates to student engagement and homeschool connections.
What is Honey Pot Work Time?
During work time, which is one hour a day, students are engaging in centers of their choice around the classroom. This time of day is what is considered child-directed time and gives all of our staff the opportunity to join in their play and be 3 years old again!
We have a rotating schedule for Mr. Jonathan and Miss Maria each month, which allows them to have uninterrupted and designated time in each classroom. We believe that a home-school connection begins with relationships formed at school. Engaging in their play will enable us to get to know them and create relationships led by our students' interests. You will find a copy of the honeypot work time schedule here each month and photos from the month in each class.
Each month our Family Workers collaborate with our teaching staff to create a Newsletter and Family Fun Challenge. Students and families are encouraged to work on this project at home, and below you will find photos of their submissions this month. When selecting a prize, we love to partner with our local community businesses and look forward to creating positive family experiences outside the Hive.
