Halloween Parade

We celebrated our Halloween Parade in style. Our families all gathered along Avenue C, cheering on our students. The excitement shared between our students and families was a privilege to witness! Thank you to Paul Rocheny for capturing all the memories. There will be more photos on our website for viewing. Special thank you to our families that participated in the family costume contest. We will be announcing the winners tomorrow! We hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween weekend and cannot wait to enter into the season of giving with lots more fun on the way!

Our Bees participated in the 2nd Annual Busy Little Bees Pumpkin Patch Day! This is one of our favorite event days in the fall because we get to bring a Pumpkin Patch experience right to our front doors that some of our students may not get to experience otherwise. Each student got to pick a pumpkin to take home and each class received one to disect in a science lesson. Our families were lucky enough to receive a same-day Fall Photo from Rocheny Photography. We have been collaborating with Paul for three years now and cannot thank him enough for continuing to do this year after year. We are grateful able to provide our students and families with these keepsakes.

Happy Diwali!! Our bees learned about Diwali and celebrated by painting their Diyas and lighting them while listening to a Diwali Story. Later in Large Group students danced using various materials from the music area to go along with Diwali sounds. Each student went home with their own stencils and sand to bring Diwali home to their families. It is always our goal to introduce students and families to cultures and holidays they have never heard of and we are proud to have done that through this celebration! 

Special thank you to Miss Gita who is part of the Busy Little Bees family and gracefully purchased all our shirts and got us ready to celebrate as authentically as possible. It’s always a good time when she pulls up to the Hive! 

On October 9th, we wore Orange for ADHD Awareness Month with a special surprise for our students! We were lucky enough to partner with Zoe's Peace Packs who is a community staple. Zoe is a friend of Busy Little Bees and we have donated to her cause in the past, but she is the one who donated to us this time. She packed each one of our students an individual coloring book with crayons and their own fidget spinner.

For those who have not heard of her, Zoe is 9 years old navigating life with ADHD and anxiety who is on a mission to help others. She is using her tips and tricks of what she has learned and how certain tools have worked her to spread her awareness and kindness by packing essentials in a kit called Zoe’s Peace Packs. She has donated to all the Bayonne Schools Guidance Departments and has helped COUNTLESS number of children with her mission in Hudson County.

Zoe’s peace packs are not for profit but rather for peace and 100% of the donations go towards purchasing the supplies to make more peace packs. I am so grateful to have met Zoe and to be able to help her with her mission to bring peace to others. As a school with the help of our Parents we raised $200 for Zoe’s Peace Packs to support her mission that is close to our hearts.
