Our Busy Little Bees Family is wishing all our families a very Happy Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for each year and for me it always starts right here at the front door of the school, with a staff who always shows up, and with a job that has never been more rewarding. Thanksgiving is a holiday of reflection for all we have in a world too focused on what we don’t have. Year after year we are more grateful for the abundance of love that comes in and out of school and the mindset that “all we have is all we need.” We hope everyone enjoys their day, Happy Thanksgiving
All week long our bees have been learning about Thanksgiving and the traditions. At the core we’ve been talking about what it means to be thankful. We played games, read books, made centerpieces, sang songs, practiced setting a Thanksgiving table, had a pie tasting, and even found time to make a turkey in each class. It is such a rewarding experience to hear what the children are thankful for and how simple life is for them.
All month long, Mr. Jonathan has been working with the kids on their very own class Turkeys during Honey Pot Worktime! They were so excited to create something for their class with their friends!
On November 13th, we celebrated World Kindness Day! This day has a tender significance to Miss Emily, Mr. Tim, and Mr. Jonathan who lost their mom 3 years ago on this day. As a special tradition we celebrate World Kindness day in loving memory of her and all that she wanted the world to be…KIND! Our bees painted their very own rocks that will be scattered around the front of the school. They also read books during Read Aloud and talked about the meaning of Kindness. Our bees are little but so smart and so empathetic. They are learning what it means to be kind friends, kind children, and kind leaders. It is always our school wide goal to have our students leave kinder than they started an today was filled with gratitude for just how kind they are and what a privilege it is to work and teach children that value kindness! Today was a special day for us at the Hive and dedicating the day to Pam each year makes it that much sweeter because she was the one who taught our Queen Bee the meaning of kindness that now transcends through the school each day. If you can choose to be anything, BEE kind. Special thank you to Rachel for her custom design of our shirts each year. This design was by far our favorite.
