Our Bees celebrated Christmas in Pajamas! All month long, each class had its own elf spreading Christmas magic throughout our halls. We focused most on celebrating the season of giving rather than receiving. We read books, shared yummy snacks, decorated classrooms, decorated the hallways with homemade art, and even got a visit from Santa. This was a fantastic month of holiday celebrations, and we look forward to the New Year!
We celebrated Kwanzaa! ❤️💚🖤
Our students practiced their fine motor skills by ripping red, green, and brown paper to create their very own Kinaras. As we read stories together, the children made meaningful connections between the book characters’ outfits and the outfits in our dress-up area, as well as the puppets in our book area. This hands-on experience supported early literacy, fine motor development, and cultural awareness. We loved seeing their focus, creativity, and thoughtful observations as we learned and celebrated together! One of my absolute favorite moments was when the students thought we were making a menorah because last week we learned about Hanukkah last week. It is a privilege to expose our students to multicultural learning!
All of our Busy Little Bees students got to take photos with Santa! Paul (photographed here with Miss Emily & Santa) is the owner of Rocheny Photography, a Bayonne grown business. It is an honor to have been able to partner with him to make this possible for our students and parents for the 3rd year in a row. It is always our mission to bring memories and experiences to the front door for both the students and the parents. Paul has a warm and welcoming presence and really cares about the students. We specifically love that all our students leave with their photo the same day. There is no greater feeling than watching the parents glow when seeing their child’s photo. ♥️🎅🏼 Thank you Rocheny Photography, it is always a pleasure!

Our Bees had a blast celebrating Hanukkah! Each class read a story on the holiday, and decorated their own classroom chain link. They played with dreidels and made patterns using snap cubes. We were even lucky enough to have special guests to read to our friends and also brought homemade potato pancake pancakes with applesauce for the students to try. After all the classrooms were finished with their chain-link, the admin team assembled them in a hallway display in the shape of a menorah. We light the candle each sundown as the days go on.
Today, we celebrated National Gingerbread House Day by having each class decorate its own 3-foot gingerbread house! Our hallways are lined with their creations for all to see. They worked together and problem-solved with all their choices and materials. We love a good collaborative moment, especially through the holidays!
Our Bees had a blast decorating the hallway Christmas Trees! The teachers developed a series of creative methods to make original, personal keepsake ornaments to decorate the hallway trees, which will eventually be taken home. We cannot wait for all the families to see their timeless creations!
